Escondida Mine
Escondida is the world's largest copper mine, and it is critical to global copper production. The bright objects visible in this image are mining trucks as they work their way down the mine for open-pit extraction. SAR's all-weather 24/7 monitoring can reliably image the site to monitor mining activity such as truck movements, material extraction and new infrastructure developments.
