The Laizhou Bay Salt Ponds contain hundreds of evaporation ponds where salts are dried to produce organic and inorganic chemicals, such as Bromine. SAR reflects energy differently according to the surface texture and a deeper analysis using microwave remote sensing can indicate the status of individual ponds.
